About
Melinda M. Luthin is the principal in the Corona del Mar office. After honing her skills at blue-chip international law firms, Ms. Luthin founded Melinda Luthin Law in her adopted hometown of Corona del Mar in order to provide clients outstanding legal service in a comfortable atmosphere.
Ms. Luthin has a varied civil practice involving estate planning, business, real estate, construction, employment, and insurance matters.
From simple wills and trusts, to complex structuring of family business succession, Ms. Luthin works with her clients to implement their financial plans, confront end-of-life decisions, and formulate successful wealth transference.
She also represents clients in various transactional matters, ranging from business formation and operation to negotiations involving sales, acquisitions, mergers, and contracts; fostering successful outcomes while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
Ms. Luthin has represented businesses and individuals in complex, multi-million dollar lawsuits involving matters such as breach of contract, securities litigation, intellectual property, employment and unfair business practices. Ms. Luthin also represents clients in a number of real estate matters involving issues such as construction defects, HoAs, environmental contamination and compliance, as well as eminent domain and inverse condemnation.
Education
Melinda Luthin holds a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from the University of California, Davis. True to her Aggie roots, Ms. Luthin returned to Davis to attend U.C. Davis School of Law. She graduated in the top five percent of her class (the highest honors) and is a member of the Order of the Coif and the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. During her law school career, Ms. Luthin received the Witkin Award of Excellence for top grades in Property Law, Real Estate Finance Law and Evidence. She was also appointed to the Trial Practice Honor Board.
